What is Done in Love… the origin of a blog title

The absolute hardest part of starting a blog is coming up with the title. The title sets the tone of a blog and either drums up readers or sends them scurrying away to the next headliner. I wanted something that inspired me. Surely I couldn’t speak to others in a positive way under a lifeless, meaningless blog title.

I read a quote from history that connected my thoughts to a Bible quote. It just stuck and it crossed my mind often enough that I thought it was something I could use.

Who doesn’t enjoy Vincent van Gogh’s painting, “Starry Night?” I love his quote “What is done in love is done well.” How reassuring this is to a wife, mom, and homeschooling teacher. I love my family and the important decisions I make are done from a perspective of love. I want to know that what I am doing is enough and that it is going to make a positive impact. Vincent van Gogh’s take on it is that if it is done in love, then it is a job well done. If this drives your perspective then you are probably on the right track.

This beautiful quote reminded me of 1 Corinthians 16:14, “Let all that you do be done in love.”

Enough said.
